The Thimble pendant light is small but perfectly formed and ideal for that hand-made understated look. Perfect as multiple lights over a kitchen island, as a pair by a bedside or as a quirky addition to a cloakroom. Eleven ceramic colours and five fitting finishes can be specified for this piece – see OPTIONS below.
Each one is made to order in our workshop using Parian slip, which is a remarkable material originally developed to emulate marble. It is beautifully translucent* with a self-glazing, smooth satin matt finish. A highly fritted porcelain, it was created in the 1840s and became especially popular during the Victorian era for slip-cast figurines and sculptural busts. Its name derives from its resemblance to the fine-grained white marble quarried on the Greek island of Paros
*NB. The translucency varies depending on the colour of the pigment within the clay.
