Curiousa design and manufacture free hand-blown glass and ceramic lighting from their old mill studio, in the town of Wirksworth, nestled in the rolling hills of Derbyshire’s Peak District. Designer and founder Esther Patterson, whose passion for nature has inspired not only her range of products, but the kind of company she wants to lead, is very much part of the creative community, which has over 150 practicing artists and craftspeople.
Since 2010, Curiousa has crafted bespoke lighting that celebrates colour, quality, and form. Each design highlights the intrinsic beauty of hand-blown glass, a focus that has established its reputation in the decorative lighting industry. Their pendants, chandeliers and bespoke creations can be seen hanging proudly in homes and commercial venues around the world.
Esther’s love and respect for nature drive Curiousa’s whole approach and every decision. Using only UK-based suppliers, over 50% recycled glass, 90% of their packaging is compostable or recyclable, the company car is 100% EV and they only make products that last. They also offer a repair and refurbishment service so that you can refresh your favourite pieces for the next generation.
