We are pleased to announce that the Carnival Collection has been awarded Best Lighting Showpiece at the Livingetc Style Awards! Launched in spring 2025, the Carnival Collection marked a playful evolution of our renowned Sculptural Stack series, combining pastel hued porcelain and wood with our signature colourful hand-blown glass.
Livingetc.com’s Editor Hugh Metcalf said:
“Chalky ceramics, frosted glass and smooth wood come together for this eye-catching collection of pendant lights inspired by the geometric harlequin motif. Consisting of three drop chandeliers, each looks arresting on its own, but they become an art installation when grouped over a dining table or in the corner of a living room. ‘I’ve not seen these three materials used like this together before – and I think the resulting colour palettes are so ebullient,'”
The Making of the Carnival Collection
Each piece in the Carnival Collection is made to order, with the porcelain elements slipcast in moulds based upon forms originally hand-turned on the wheel by Founder & Designer Esther Patterson.
While discussing her creative process with Elle Decoration in June Esther said:
“The collection was born out of an experiment. I enjoyed playing with ceramic samples I’d made in my studio and seeing what could happen. Designing like this is very freeing, almost an accidental process. I can immerse myself, not just in the designs, but in the materials and making too, sculpting the pieces myself – it’s rewarding to be so hands-on.”
As we make every piece to order, you can fully customise your pendant light, choose from a palatte of 10-hand pigmented ceramic colours and 10 softly diffused glass tones to create your own sculptural composition.
