The Half Moon pendant is handmade using a marbling technique. Each shade is made to order with three chosen colours, which are swirled into a plaster mould before the final layer of porcelain is applied. A corresponding coloured ball is added to complete the look. This exuberant light piece will be a welcoming addition to any space, with a choice of eleven colours and five fitting finishes – see OPTIONS below.
Each one is made to order in our workshop using Parian slip, which is a remarkable material originally developed to emulate marble. It is beautifully translucent with a self-glazing, smooth satin matt finish. A highly fritted porcelain, it was created in the 1840s and became especially popular during the Victorian era for slip-cast figurines and sculptural busts. Its name derives from its resemblance to the fine-grained white marble quarried on the Greek island of Paros.
NB. Colours used in the main image are Coral, Moss and Citron.
